Yazd rugs have asymmetrical (Persian) knots with three weaves. The number of knots in square inch is much less than Isfahan rugs, but the pile is softer and longer. The quality of the locally produced wool is good and the natural dyes give the rug shine.
The colors used in Yazd rugs were often stronger than the pastel tones of Kirman rugs, produced for the international market. However, Yazd rugs are extremely popular in Iran for home use, which have very strong colors. The amount of colors used in Yazd rugs is endless, but burgundy is usually the predominant color and some other common colors are different shades of blue and green. Yazd rugs have floral patterns. An authentic Persian work of art and no words could describe the beauty of Yazd carpets.
