Against a navy-blue background, this Perpedil has striking designs. Six ram’s horns (wurma) cover the central area – in blue, white and red colours. Exquisite red flowers between the horns stand out sharply and bring this rug to life. Four stylized animals with six legs and bushy tails accompany each horn. Two rows of swords, a version of the ram’s horn motif, alternate with tiny flowers, S motifs, diamonds, rosettes and “stars of the Meds” arranged along the rug’s sides. The crafted kufic border, made of rosettes between double hooks, splendidly adorns this gorgeous Perpedil.
