The predominant population is also known as Lesghi, and the rugs they produce have been on the ancient rug market since the 19<sup>th<\/sup> century.<\/p>\n<p>Lesghi rugs have a geometric design and most of them feature one or more&nbsp;medallions in the central field. The main design is a large eight-point star that can appear directly on the field or inside a rectangle. Stars are usually presented in alternating colors. In the rug market, this star-shaped geometric pattern is known as the design or Lesghi rug. The margins are made with designs of tulips or other flowers, vines with plants, stars or other Caucasian geometric motifs.<\/p>\n<p>Blue, red, gold or ivory colors are used in the central area of \u200b\u200bthe rug. These colors alternate with the leading border.
