In a time when almost everything is fleeting, hastily reproduced and soon forgotten, antique oriental rugs remind us that some things were made to endure. In every thread they hold traces of a world in which handwork was also an act of memory, beauty and belonging.<\/p>

Each rug carries far more than shapes and colours. It is a living fragment of the history of peoples who found in weaving a way to express their vision of the world. These are traditions passed down through generations, among nomadic communities, remote villages, mosques, workshops and palaces of the regions known today as Iran, Turkey, Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, the Caucasus, India and China.<\/p>

In many of these cultures, weaving was never merely a craft. It was also language, spiritual expression and ancestral memory. The designs form silent narratives, bound to protection, fertility, nature and the continuity of life. Each colour, prepared from elements of the earth, may hold the light of a landscape, the passing of the seasons, the feeling of the one who wove it, or the memory of something that should not be forgotten.<\/p>

These rugs do not merely decorate. They inhabit.<\/p>

Over time they have passed through wars, upheavals, births, rituals, celebrations, meetings and farewells. They were silent witnesses to countless lives and yet they still stand before us with their beauty intact, as though awaiting a gaze able to recognise all that they carry.<\/p>
