This stunning Tabriz presents a profusion of colour that rugs made in solid tones cannot match — looking at it is like watching a kaleidoscope in gentle motion. The field is composed as a garden of compartments: panels of muted plum, powder blue, ivory and camel, each cultivating its own palmettes and blossoms, arranged with the architectural intelligence for which the ateliers of Tabriz are celebrated. Age has drawn the palette into perfect harmony, the way evening light reconciles all colours. The deep indigo border, rich with ornament, gathers the panels into a single, serene composition. A carpet of endless discovery: every viewing finds a detail the last one missed.
