This vibrant Caucasian Chichi rug was made in modern-day Azerbaijan’s Kuba (Quba) district. Six lesghi stars spread across the bright red background of the carpet. On the white background, small squares make up a cross with rosebuds. Geometric figures are scattered around the starry medallions: colourful flowers, diamonds with hooks, combs and S-shaped figures. Roses and diagonal bars alternate on the dark brown background of the majestic main border. This border is interspersed with four smaller borders, two of which have palm leaves and the other two filled with colourful roses.
