An antique Persian Malayer, handwoven in camel wool between the 1900s and 1920s, and stretching over five metres in length — a true gallery format. Across the sandy ground, numerous lozenges are connected by flowers in rose, indigo and coral, an arrangement that recalls stained glass illuminated by sunlight: each cell glowing, each lead-line drawn in wool. Three borders rich in geometric figures frame the procession, their saturated tones set off against the beige of the field. Long Malayers of this age and refinement have become rare; this one carries its century with the ease of a house that has always been loved.
