Seychour – Kuba, Northeast Caucasus

An elegant and distinctive Seychour with the Alpan Crab design. Over the ivory field, diamonds, blossoms and small colourful animals are scattered with the random spontaneity that is this Kuba district’s signature grace, while four aligned medallions — composed of roses, flowers and arrows, touched with Seychour’s famous pinks — command the centre. At top and bottom, the medallions run incomplete off the edge, a deliberate device suggesting continuity and infinity: the design does not end, it merely leaves the frame.
