A breathtaking antique Persian Zanjan. Over a field of deepest navy, resplendent plants and flowers burst forth in red, salmon, cobalt, yellow, ivory and green — a nocturnal garden in full bloom, drawn with serrated leaves and radiant blossoms. It is the contrast that makes the magic: against the dark ground, each flower becomes incandescent, and the whole surface seems lit from within. Borders in warm camel, carrying their own floral sprays, hold the exuberance in a golden frame. A magnificent piece from northwest Persia, for those who want a rug that celebrates rather than whispers.
